The dancers of NDT 1 (Nederlands Dans Theater) and S-E-D (Sharon Eyal Dance) have been awarded the Swan Award for “Most Impressive Dance Achievement 2025” for Into the Hairy, presented during the Nederlandse Dansdagen Gala on 3 October in Maastricht.
This recognition highlights the extraordinary collaboration between the two ensembles, led by choreographer Sharon Eyal and producer Gai Behar, whose distinct artistic language continues to redefine the boundaries of contemporary dance.
Sharon Eyal, who previously received the FEDORA – VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Dance Prize 2017 for Love Chapter 2, once again captivates audiences with her emotionally charged and visually powerful work.
The FEDORA - VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Dance Prize is supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, in collaboration with Opera Europa. The FEDORA Prizes competition is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission.
Sharon Eyal was born in Jerusalem and based in France. She danced with the Batsheva Dance Company between 1990- 2008. Eyal served as Associate Artistic Director for Batsheva from 2003–04, and as a House Choreographer for the company from 2005–12. During her time with the company, she created 16 new creations.
